Age 92. The daughter of Jess and Florence Brumsley Smith. She farmed with her husband in the Cullison and Pratt area from 1928 until they retired in 1968 and moved to Pratt. She was a member of Our Savior's Lutheran Church, Pratt, and an Extension Homemaker Unit at Cullison. She married Loyd B. Rice Sept. 28, 1928, in Haviland. He died April 28, 1980. Survivors include: two daughters, five grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; an infant daughter; and three sisters, Reba Histed, Erma Swonger and Lois Jenkins.
