Vicki LaNell Murphy

Our beautiful wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister & friend, Vicki LaNell (Hooper) Murphy, left this earth to be with her Heavenly Father, Friday, November 13, 2015. Vicki was born in Provo, Utah, July 9, 1948 and was raised in Mapleton, she graduated from Springville High School in 1966. She married Gary Rasmussen in 1967, moved to US Army Ft Hood, Texas for six months and then returned home to Provo and had two children, Todd and Shannon. Four years later they moved to Okinawa Japan for two and a half years and returned home to Utah and had three more children, Danica, Heather & Cassidy. They bought a house in American Fork and lived there until 1985. Vicki was divorced and then remarried to Cem E Murphy in April 1987 and then moved to Elko, Nevada in 1987. Vicki returned home to Utah in 2014. Vicki was a homemaker and a caretaker of many. She loved to sew, make crafts, cook, bake, read and loved country music and Celine Dion. She loved her family more than anything and was a second mother to many. She will be dearly missed by all!!!
Vicki is survived by he husband Cem E. Murphy; Children: Todd (Michelle) Rasmussen, Shannon (Corbin)Bateman, Danica (Rick) Mauldin, Heather Sorensen, & Cassidy Rasmussen; Parents: Preston Hooper & Ruth Wiscombe; Brothers: Ray (Mary) Hooper, Tom (Lorraine)Hooper, Shelby (Denise) Hooper; Sisters: Trisha (Danny) Hall, & Jolene Kogianes; and 13 grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents and brother Burl Hooper.
