HORNTON, Wayne P. Longtime resident of Vandalia, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Monday, May 4, 2015 after a brief illness. Wayne was born May 13, 1935; graduated from Northridge High School and attended University of Dayton prior to enlisting in the U. S. Army. After 35 years in the printing business and a second career in real estate he retired. He was preceded in death by his parents, William E. and Emma Mae Thornton. Wayne is survived by his wife of the past 57 years, Judith A. Thornton; children, Steven W. Thornton and Mary E. Thornton-Toerner (David); sister, Marylou Thomas (John); aunt, Gladys Happ Johnson; and other extended family members and friends. A memorial visitation/celebration of life will be held on Tuesday, May 12, from 10:00 a.m. - 12 Noon at the Morton & Whetstone Funeral Home, 139 S. Dixie Dr., Vandalia. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John's Lutheran Church, Vandalia, Ohio
