On Tuesday afternoon of last week, E. B. Tuxbury, a son of Dwight Tuxbury (of the firm of Tuxbury & Stone, of this place) committed suicide by shooting himself with a pistol, near Navy Yard, Charlestown, Mass. Aged 25 years. His remains were brought to Windsor for burial. Mr. Tuxbury had been for some time engaged as a Travelling Salesman, soliciting orders for goods, for the firm of Ewing & Co, 101 Chauncey Street, Boston, and his accounts with them were found correct. Why he committed this deed will ever remain a mystery. Spirit of the Age, November 6, 1873.
