Joe Robert Love, 79, of Idaho Falls, passed away November 20, 2015, at his home. He was under the care of his loving family and Hands of Hope Hospice.
Joe was born November 10, 1936, in Marie, Arkansas, to J.D. Love and Frozine Hill Love. He grew up and attended schools in Oceola, Arkansas, and graduated from Rosenwald High School. In 1982, he received his Associate’s Degree in Management from Park College. He served in the United States Air Force, fought in the Vietnam War and honorably retired as a Master Sergeant after 23 years.
While stationed in England, he met Beryl "Bennie" Smith and they were married on July 8, 1957, in Liverpool, England. To this union were born six children, Joe, Tony, Darren, Ricky, Melanie, and Eric. Joe and Bennie made their home in Woodbridge, England; Pemberton, New Jersey; Cheyenne, WY; the Philippines; and numerous other cities while in the service. They lived in Mountain Home, Idaho, from 1977-1983, when the family moved to Idaho Falls. Joe worked as a Probation Officer and as an Industrial Property Management/Logistics Manager at the Department of Energy.
He fought a courageous battle against cancer for 17 years, always with a positive attitude. He was a great inspiration to all who knew him. He will always be our hero. We will never forget his wonderful smile. He will be sadly missed by all family and friends! He enjoyed flying; sailing; fishing; following the stock market; spending time with his beloved Scottish Terrior, Jock; and camping.
