Service held for Roman "Pete" Caudill

Roman "Pete" Caudill, 79, of Fairborn, Ohio, died May 13.

Born in Perry County, he was preceded in death by his wife, Ethel Caudill, and later married Effie Caudill, who survives him.

Caudill served in the U.S. Army occupation forces immediately following World War II. He worked at Schwerman Trucking Company, first as a mechanic and later rising to the position of vice president of maintenance.

He was a member of the First Church of Christ in Fairborn, the F&AM Lodge 754 of Whitesburg, and Rabboni Chapter 232 in Fairborn.

Surviving in addition to his wife are two sons, William Caudill and Jimmy Caudill and wife Sarah; a daughter, Jenny Dillon and husband Terrance; three stepsons, Russell Milliron and wife Suzanne, Robert Milliron, and Peter Milliron and wife Kimberly; two sisters, Carrie Decker and Billy Jean Self and husband Bill; a brother, Tom Caudill; three granddaughters, Kimberly Hoerner, Katrina Dillon, and Kehlen Dillon; two step-granddaughters, Heather Milliron and Hayley Milliron; a great-granddaughter, Emily Hoerner; and a brother-in-law, Ercell Sturgill and wife Sylvia.

A memorial service was held May 17 in Fairborn, Ohio. Burial will be in Whitesburg.
