Marion Combs
Marion Combs, died last Saturday afternoon at the Jenkins Hospital after an illness of several weeks, at the age of 75 years, 8 months and 12 days. Uncle Marion as he was known to so many of his younger friends, lived his entire life at the spot where he was born. He was a kind, friendly gentleman always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need of assistance, a loving father and a devoted husband.
He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Martha Combs, one daughter, Mrs. Purnie Sizemore of Baltimore, Md., two sons, John Combs of Columbus Ohio, Willard Combs of Detroit, Mich.; three sisters, Mrs. Sallie Blair, Mrs. Susan Combs, and Mrs. Jane Brashears.
Services were held Sunday evening at the home on Craft's Colly by Elders G. Bennett Adams, Dewey Sexton, Matt Webb and Kernel Sexton. And Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the home by Elders Matt Webb, Dewey Sexton, Kernel Sexton and John H. Blair.
Burial in the Combs-Stallard Cemetery by members of the Evans Funeral Home.
