A U.S. Merchant Marine casualty of the Second World War. He was Second Mate aboard the American tanker Naeco (Pennsylvania Shipping Co, Philadelphia PA. Homeport: Wilmington, DE). He was one of 24 crewmen who died when German submarine U-124 torpedoed and sank the unescorted ship in the Atlantic Ocean approximately 65 miles southeast of Cape Lookout, North Carolina. There were 14 survivors.
