She was born March 18, 1922, in Broken Bow, Neb., daughter of James R. and Mary Coen Grant.
She married Dewey Van Willhite and he preceded her in death.
She retired from Blacks Department Store, Waterloo, after many years of service.
Survived by: a daughter, Judy (Marshall) Sonksen of Bettendorf; four grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.
Preceded in death by: her parents; a son, Darrel; and six siblings.
Graveside services: 2 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 24, at Garden of Memories Cemetery, Waterloo.
