Jesup- Helen “Linda” Crews Lee, 71, of Jesup died early Friday morning (November 20, 2015) at her residence after an extended illness. Born in Nahunta, GA her parents were J.D. Crews and Hattie Idell Hickox Herrin.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Alvin Conner Lee; 2 sisters, Beatrice Crews and Norma Kay O’Berry; and a step brother, Jimmy Herrin.

Linda was a retired Senior Case Worker for Brantley Co. Department of Family and Children Services and a member of Hickox Baptist Church. She also had a gift of being a very hospitable person who loved caring and catering to other. Linda also enjoyed crocheting, any needle crafting, baking cakes, and reading.

Survivors include her brother and sister-in-law, Dewayne & Sheryl Herrin of Jesup; 3 step brothers and sisters-in-law, E.B. & Emily Herrin of Kingsland, GA, Don & Mary Herrin and J.R. & Shirley Herrin all of Hickox; 4 sisters and brothers-in-law, Janice & Rev. Robert Huling of Folkston, Barbara “Bobbie” Johnson, Carolyn Edgy and Ivalee & Lamar Thrift all of Hickox; her cherished friends, Don & Martha Renshaw and family and Faye Todd and family; and also several nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held Sunday afternoon (November 22, 2015) at 3pm at Hickox Baptist Church with Dr. W. Derrell Rentz and Dr. Brad Ellington officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service Sunday afternoon. Burial will follow in New Hope Cemetery in Hickox. Pallbearers will be Derrick Herrin, Dallas Herrin, Arnold O’Berry, Craig Renshaw, David Todd, Ronnie Crews, and Joey Steedley. Honorary pallbearers will be the Ready Sunday School Class of Screven First Baptist Church.
