R. H. Smith, 42, Dies, Rites Today

Funeral services for R. H. Smith, 42, whose death following surgery occurred at 10:25 p.m. Friday at the hospital, are to be held this afternoon at 4 o'clock at the First Baptist Church. The Rev. J. M. Sibley, pastor, is to officiate at the concluding rites, Yates Funeral Home arranging the church service and interment in the city cemetery.

Mr. Smith had been employed with the Gulf Oil Corporation's Sweetwater plant since it was constructed.

He leaves a widow; one son, Herman; and three daughters, Mrs. G. W. Finley, Frances and Dorothy of Sweetwater; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. E. Smith of Roscoe; a brother, Estes, of Big Spring; two sisters, Mrs. H. W. McIntyre of Sweetwater and Mrs. A. G. West of Sullivan City; and two grandchildren, Nancy and Carol Finley.
