Ola Mae Armes, 78, of 702 Pine Creek Drive, died Jan. 12, 2001. Born in Greenville County, she was the daughter of the late William H. and Emma Pittman Nelson.
Mrs. Armes was a graduate of the 1939 class of Parker High School. Before her marriage, she worked as a cloth booker at Union Bleachery, Greenville, and after marriage was a housewife. She was a member of Parisview Baptist Church and the Auditorium Sunday School Class.

Surviving are her husband, Leadus R. Armes, Sgt. Major USMC Retired; two daughters, Susan L. Caylor and Donna K. Harvley, both of Greenville; a son, William G. Armes of Greenville; and five granddaughters, Lura Lee and Amanda Caylor, Kimberly and Stacey Coonan, and Emily Armes, all of Greenville. She was predeceased by a brother, William Nelson.

Services will be held Sunday at 2pm at The Mackey Mortuary, Century Drive, with Dr. Ansel McGill officiating. Burial will follow at Greenville Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends tonight from 7-8:30pm at the mortuary. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund of Parisview Baptist Church, 100 Bud St., Greenville, SC.
