A Mass of Christian Burial for Mr. Alvin John LeMaire, Sr., 76, will be held at 1:30PM on Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Fr. Bill Melancon officiating. Interment will follow at Our Lady of Lourdes Mausoleum.

Visitation will be at David Funeral Home of Erath on Friday, November 20, 2015 from 4:00PM until 10:00PM with a recitation of the rosary at 7:00PM. Visitation will resume on Saturday, November 21, 2015 from 9:00AM until the time of the services.

A native of Erath and a resident of Rayne Mr. LeMaire died at 8:46AM at his residence on Thursday, November 19, 2015. He was a successful horse trainer and enjoyed hunting and LSU football. He really enjoyed being with his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is survived by a son, Alvin John LeMaire, Jr. and his wife Dana of Broussard; two daughters, Karen and her husband David Abshire, Sr. of Ringgold, LA and Sharon and her husband Paul LeBlanc of Erath; eight grandchildren, Tricia Lynn Abshire, David “D.J.” Abshire, Jr., Nichole LeMaire, Keely LeMaire Aguayo, Kyla LeMaire, Monty Allen Manuel, Chyna Myrae Toups, and Nikki Paige Toups; six great grandchildren, Lynsie Lou LeBlanc, Sullivan Drew Aguayo, Cali-Myrae Duhon, Cora Abshire, Kai David Abshire and one on the way; a brother, Dennis Ray LeMaire; and two sisters, Delores Gary and Maudry LeBlanc.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lukress Landry LeMaire; his parents, Preston Joseph and Olita Duplantis LeMaire; and three brothers, Lenwood LeMaire, Dudley LeMaire, and Jeffrey LeMaire.

Serving as pallbearers will be Monty Manuel, Joey LeMaire, Russell LeBlanc, Corey LeMaire, David “D.J.” Abshire, Jr., and Kenwood Gary.

David Funeral Home of Erath will be handling the arrangements.
