Long Time Sweetwater Resident Dies at Home Monday Night
Funeral services for J. F. Otey, 83, were held from the First Methodist Church Tuesday afternoon at 4 o'clock with the Rev. Geo. T. Palmer, pastor, assisted by the Rev. Thomas Lennox, pastor of the First Christian Church, officiating.
Mr. Otey, a resident of Sweetwater for the past 55 years, died at his home on Fifth Street Monday night at 8:30 o'clock. He had been a contractor-carpenter here until the past few years.
He is survived by his wife and two sons, Walter and Ross; and one daughter, Mrs. Nita Norman, all of Sweetwater.
Pallbearers were Dill Pace, Opie Gildert, D. D. Dickson, Chas. Hodges, Roy Duckett and Andy Means. Burial was made in Sweetwater Cemetery under direction of Yates Funeral Home.
