Pastor Carl Wayne Warren died November 18, 2015 after a yearlong series of illnesses.

He is survived by his wife Myra (Trudie) Seitz Warren. They were married August 9, 1964 and by God's grace, celebrated 51 years of service together.

He is also survived by his son Carveth Wesley Warren, his sister, Suzanne Warren Rolfs, numerous nieces and nephews, and many, many brothers and sisters in Christ.

He was born July 4, 1941 in Catawba County to Carl Wesley Warren and Annie Lee Sipe Warren. He spent a special part of his life with his aunt and uncle Fleeta and Carroll Huffman.

He was a graduate of St. Stephens High School, Lenoir Rhyne College, and Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary. As a college student, he served as a Counselor at Camp Lutheridge for 4 years. He was ordained June, 1967 at Emanuel Lutheran Church in Lincolnton, NC. His first Pastorate was at Jerusalem Lutheran Church in Rincon, GA. He served as Associate Pastor in Charge of youth programs at St. Mark's Lutheran Church, Charlotte, NC. He was Pastor at St. Timothy Lutheran, Forest Park, GA for 21 years; while there, he also served as volunteer chaplain to the Clayton County Police and Fire departments for 16 years. He was Pastor at St. James Lutheran Church, Brunswick, GA and Prince of Peace, Fernandina Beach, FL, where he was active in the Via de Christo, the ecumenical Christian renewal movement for both individuals and congregations. Lastly, he served as Interim Pastor at Ebenezer Lutheran Church, Catawba, NC. He was co-founder of the AFFIRM program for Youth in the Southeastern Synod. He literally touched the lives of thousands of Youth during his ministry, a number of who are now ordained ministers of the Lutheran Church.

His family wishes to express their special thanks to the EMS of Catawba County, the staff at Frye Regional Medical Center, and the staff of the Abernethy Laurels Community for their care and concern.

For the life of Pastor Carl Warren, his family and friends say, "Thanks be to God!"

A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Beth Eden Lutheran Church, in Newton, with Rev. Marcus Ollis and Rev. Eric Murray officiating. Inurnment will follow at St. James Lutheran Church Cemetery in Newton.
