Clarksburg- Karen J. Schultz, age 72 of 885 Co. Rd. CKL Champion (Clarksburg) passed away Monday October 26, 2015 at the Marquette County Medical Care Facility while in the care of her family and UP Home Health & Hospice.

Karen was born March 11, 1943 in Marquette to Donald & Jeanne (Prince) MacPherson. She attended the Marquette Area Schools and Northern Michigan University. Karen worked as a community aide for the NICE Community School District at the Champion School and also worked at the 41 Steakhouse. Karen went on to selling insurance for Mutual of Omaha, sold Sarah Coventry jewelry and worked in sales at American of Marquette.

Karen was a member of the Greenwood American Legion Auxiliary Post #114, and the Red Hat Society. She belonged to the Negaunee Cribbage League and she enjoyed throwing horseshoes. Karen enjoyed traveling, playing BINGO and finding good deals at yard sales. She will be missed by her canine companion Mya. Karen was her Grandchildren's number one fan, never missing any of their sporting events.

Karen is survived by her husband Keith, whom she married on July 2, 1966, 4 children: Lori (Eric) Bendall of Reno, NV, Kenneth Schultz of Fayetteville, NC, Steven (Connie) Schultz of Michigamme and Danielle (Garret) Guidebeck of Ishpeming, the joy of her life, 8 grandchildren: Justin Bares, Nicolette Schultz, Nicholas Bendall, Cole Schultz, Cooper Guidebeck, Tabitha Guidebeck, Victoria Schultz and Carter Guidebeck, her mother in law Lorraine Schultz, nieces, nephews, cousins and many in her extended family. Karen was preceded in death by her parents, an infant daughter Kristin, a sister Bonnie Jarvi and father in law Sterling Schultz Sr.

Karen's family will greet relatives and friends on Tuesday, November 3, 2015 from 4:00-6:00pm at the Greenwood America Legion Post #114 where a luncheon will follow.
