Candace Pierce, age 51, passed from this life on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at home, surrounded by her family, after a courageous battle with Peritoneal Mesothelioma.
Candace was born March 3, 1964, in Dallas, Texas, to Johnny M. & Lera L. Owens. She graduated from Skyline High School in Dallas, Texas, in 1982. She graduated from East Texas Baptist University in Marshall, Texas, with a BS in Business, in 1986.
Candace is survived by her husband of 30 years, Dr. Monty Pierce, and their son, John Calvin Pierce. She is also survived by her parents; her sister, Chana Howard and husband, Mike, and their children Sarah Elizabeth, Stephen and fiancée Ashley Yager; as well as her aunt Wilma Palmer Darberkow (Auntie) and husband, Lowell; her aunt Betty Kinder Lawrence, first cousins Dorinda Palmer Easley and husband, Michael; James Palmer and wife, Paula; cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. She is preceded in death by her infant daughter, Katharine Jewell Pierce; maternal grandparents, Euna and Morris Lawrence & paternal grandparents Jewell and Halmer Owens.
