Pioneer Rancher Succumbs Today; Rites Saturday

Jacob Mills Lewis, 82, pioneer rancher and stockfarmer of Sweetwater and Roscoe since 1921, died at his home, 601 W. Ninth Street at 4:30 a.m. today.

Surviving are six sons and two daughters, Clyde, N. P., M. C. and Roy, all of Sweetwater, H. C. of Goose Creek, G. W. of Beaumont, Mrs. A. B. Hastings of Goose Creek and Mrs. Opal Blackburn of Seagoville; one brother, G. W. Lewis of Seagoville; 48 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at the Lamar Street Baptist Church with the Rev. J. P. McBeth, pastor, in charge. Wells Funeral Home will supervise interment in the city cemetery.

Pallbearers are Roy DeBusk, L. W. Scott, A. E. Lane, J. M. Bratcher, W. S. Buchanan and John McDonald.
