Nicholas W. Alberti died peacefully on November 9, 2015, surrounded by his family at the McCarthy Care Center in East Sandwich, MA.

Nick was born February 23, 1933, in New Rochelle, NY, and was a longtime resident of New Rochelle before moving to Yarmouth Port, MA in 1995. He played basketball at Fairleigh Dickinson University and enjoyed the sport for many years. After college he worked for cartoonist Paul Terry and spent his entire career in the film industry in New York City, including a long stint with Technicolor. Nick loved being surrounded by family, playing golf and cards, and had an undying devotion to the New York Yankees.

Nick traveled extensively throughout Europe and Asia, and had a love of Italy unmatched by anyone. He had a deep love for great food and enjoyed reminiscing about his favorite meals almost as much as he enjoyed eating them. Nick was a voracious reader, sometimes reading as many as three books a week. Despite relocating to Massachusetts in his retirement, Nick remained a consummate New Yorker in the best possible sense, continuing to read strictly New York newspapers and follow the Yankees as closely as he ever had. He was never at a loss for words and his quick wit and lightning-fast comebacks always kept those around him on their toes and laughing.

Nick is survived by his wife of sixty years, Jeannette, and his brother Ralph, also of Yarmouth Port. He is survived by his son Nicholas W. Alberti, Jr., of Bernardsville, NJ and his wife Kay, his daughter Stefanie Wright of Yarmouth Port and her husband Bill, and his son Christopher of Warren, VT and his wife Mary Ellen. Nick loved his thirteen grandchildren and one great grandson with all of his heart. His grandchildren—William and wife Lauren, Sarah and husband Giles, Nicholas, Jessica, Christopher, Sean and wife Jodi, Gregory, Dillon, Colleen, Kathryn, Bridget, Mary, Rachael and great grandson Findlay—all lost a loving grandfather.

The Alberti/Wright family wishes to thank Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston for the care provided to Nick.

Visitation will be held on Friday, November 20th from 3-6 PM at Morris, O’Connor & Blute Funeral Home, 58 Long Pond Drive, South Yarmouth, MA 02664. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, November 21st at 11:00 AM at Sacred Heart Chapel Sumer Street, Yarmouthport, MA. Interment will follow at Woodside Cemetery.

Donations in his memory may be made to Hope Health Hospice Care, 765 Attucks Ln, Hyannis, MA 02601.
