MRS. HODGES, 73, DIES AT S'WATER

Sweetwater - Mrs. Eva Bellar Hodges, 73, of Rt. 1, Sweetwater, died at 4:15 p.m. Monday in Simmons Memorial Hospital here after an illness of two weeks.

Born May 27, 1889 in Fannin County, she was married to Joel A. Hodges in Sweetwater on Dec. 25, 1912. He died in 1951. She had lived in Fisher County since 1910.

Prior to her marriage, she was a school teacher in Fannin County and in Rotan.

Funeral will be held at 4 p.m. Tuesday in the Patterson Chapel of Memories with Dr. Marshall Rhew, pastor of the First Methodist Church, officiating. Burial will be in the Sweetwater Cemetery.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. B. B. Welch of Brownwood and Mrs. Garland Browning of Sweetwater; two sons, Joel A. Jr. of Hereford and James R. of Sweetwater; four sisters, Mrs. Nora Nunn of Nevada, Mrs. Myrtle Levens of Lubbock, Mrs. Lee Hicks of Wichita Falls, and Mrs. Jewell Willingham of Rotan; and five grandchildren.
