Eileen Aitkens, 70, of Ligonier, died Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2015, at her home. She was born Sept. 18, 1945, in Philadelphia, a daughter of the late John and Mae McMurrough. Prior to her retirement, she had been employed as a teacher's aide. She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. Eileen enjoyed bowling, reading and Western movies. She was an animal lover and enjoyed babies and small children. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Donna Marie Gabriel, a sister and a brother. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Thomas H. Atkins; two daughters, Patricia Ann Atkins and Deborah Ann Reed, both of Ligonier; and a sister, Joan McMurrough, of Elwin.

Friends will be received from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the J. PAUL McCRACKEN FUNERAL CHAPEL INC., 144 E. Main St., Ligonier. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Saturday at Holy Trinity Catholic Church with the Rev. John Foriska as celebrant.

Interment will follow in the Menoher Memorial Park.
