Funeral for C. O. (Red) Bridges was to be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at Cate-Spencer Funeral Horne Chapel with Preston Cotham, minister of Fourth and Elm St. Church of Christ, officiating. Burial was to be in Sweetwater Cemetery.
Mr. Bridges, 72, a longtime Sweetwater resident, died at 4:15 p.m. Tuesday in Simmons Memorial Hospital following a brief illness.
A retired U.S. Gypsum shift foreman, he had lived here since 1925. He married the late Lillian Mae Jones on Oct. 4, 1919, in Delta County. He was a veteran of World War I.
Survivors include two sons, Bruce of Lubbock and Wayne of Dallas; seven grandchildren, one great-grandchild; and one half-brother, John Hart of Grand Prairie.
