EMERSON – Stephen K., 86, Vinco, passed away May 7, 2011, at Memorial Medical Center. Born Nov. 22, 1924, in Nanty Glo, son of the late Tom and Mae (Bracken) Emerson. Preceded in death by son, Marlin J., and brothers, John and Raymond. Survived by wife of 65 years, Margaret "Peg"; son, Barry (Jetta) Emerson, Vinco; grandsons, Richard, Brian (Tesia) and Scott (Michelle) Emerson and Cory Ehrhart; and great-grandchildren, Jordan, Ty, Cameron and Dawson Emerson. Also survived by brothers, Bill, New York; Dave, Armagh; and Jack, Nanty Glo. Member of Greater Johnstown Lodge 0538, F&AM. Retired from Bethlehem Steel Corp. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and his trips to Potter County. A World War II Army veteran. Friends will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Askew-Houser Funeral Homes Inc., Nanty Glo, where funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Geno Bartoletti, officiating. Interment, Dunmyer Cemetery. Military rites by local veterans organizations. In lieu of flowers, donations in Steve's memory may be made to Jackson Township Volunteer Fire Company.
