Matthew George Covey was born in 1700 at Dorchester County, Maryland to William G. (b. 1625 in England, m. 1687 at Dorchester County, Maryland, children: Mary, William, Robert, Richard and Matthew George, d. 1704 in Dorchester County, Maryland) and Mary Simpson Covey (b. June 2, 1664 at Salisbury, Essex County, Massachusetts to Thomas and Mary Jordan Simpson and d. 1725 at Somerset County, Maryland). Matthew married Mary Noble, born about 1709 in Dorchester County, in 1728 at Dorchester County and their children were: Noble, Elizabeth, Ann, John, Mary, Frances, Rebekah, Sarah and William. Matthew died in 1783 at Caroline County, Maryland and is buried there, exact location not known. His wife Mary later died in 1807 at Guilford County, North Carolina and is probably buried there.
