There always seems to be disputes on birthdates especially from long ago-both opinions stated below:
My 3rd G-Grandfather. The tombstone which now exists in the Sturgis Presbyterian Church Cemetery, Oktibbeha Co., Ms., indicates that Joseph Barron died in 1851 at the age of 60 years. However, the 1850 U.S. Census for Mississippi lists the Joseph Barron Family in Choctaw Co., Mississippi under the name 'Barnes' [page 73, #450], Joseph's age is shown as '63.' Age 63 translates to a birth date of circa 1787, not 1791 as indicated by the monument.

Joseph, by my records, was born in 1791 He was my great great great grandfather from Ezekiel Barron from James Monroe Barron from Lura Jane Edwards Barron Perry my grandmother Bryan H Perry ,my father. Hope this helps fill in any hole if any.
