Robert Emerson Bohanan (Bob)was a life-long resident of Salem. He was born to William & Theresa Schueller Bohanan on Apr 7, 1931. Bob's parents had 8 sons and 2 daughters and the sons became independent at an early age.
He worked as a crop duster mechanic in every state in the continental U.S., Canada and Mexico during the 50's. He built a Bellanca float plane for bush pilots to fly in Nimpo Lake, Canada. He worked for the City of Salem as a heavy duty mechanic for 20 years. Bob collected and worked on old cars, including his pride and joy a red El Dorado Cadilac convertible. He also loved growing a large garden each summer, sharing his produce, grapes and apples with friends and neighbors.

Though Bob did not have children of his own he would take his nephews out to the back of his yard to explore the types of fish in his fish pond, or take family members boating on the Willamette River.

At one time in the early 1960's, Bob and his wife flew to Nimpo Lake, Canada near Frazier Park for Dick and Helen Poet of Aumsville, in order to get airplane parts. sJones.
