Died November 17, 2015 Lucy Mae Deaton was born January 14, 1943 in Clay County and departed this life Tuesday, November 17, 2015 at the Laurel Creek Health Care Center in Manchester, being 72 years of age. She was the daughter of the late Raymond & Pearl (Eversole) Sams.
Lucy is survived by her children, James Paul Deaton, Darrell Lane Deaton and Michael Wymer all of Tyner, Raymond Carson Deaton of Annville, Jeffery Tincher of Knoxville, TN and Samantha Cloud of Hazard. She is also survived by three siblings, Kermit Sams and James Sams both of Manchester and Beulah Donnoe of Broken Arrow, OK. Lucy was blessed with a host of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Lucy was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Carson Deaton; two children, Carl Clinton Deaton & Shirley Ann Couch and by three siblings, Frankie & Jesse Sams and Dora Smith.
Lucy was a member of the Church of God Worship Center in Manchester.
Funeral service was held 12 Noon Friday, November 20, 2015 at Lakes Funeral Home with Bro. Joey Burns and Bro. Brad Stevens officiating. Burial followed in the Deaton Family Cemetery.
