Annabeth was one of two daughters born to Harry S and Gladys Thomson on their dry farm along the Oregon Trail north from Glenns Ferry, ID. Early on the family moved from Glenns Ferry to Pocatello, and then to Colfax, WA, and finally settled in Nampa, ID in 1931. She graduated from the College of Idaho and then to the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque. Around 1953 she moved to Boise, ID and purchased a home. She married and divorced.

In 1968 she took her three sons and moved to California to re-start a school teaching career in La Puente, near L.A. In 1975 she returned to her home and family in Boise. There she taught elementary school in Kuna, ID for 11 years until retirement in 1986. Reading the Bible, drawing and painting were her delights, as well as loving her three sons and two daughters-in-law, 4 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren and a great-great grandson. She faithfully attended West Side Bible Church for many years and was an active member of the Nampa Art Guild, the Idaho Watercolor Society, and the Idaho Centennial Art Group in Boise. In her retirement she drew and painted many works of art.
