Mrs. Elizabeth Towson Bullock, widow of Rev. Dr. Joseph James Bullock, one time chaplain of the Senate and also once pastor of the Franklin Street Presbyterian Church of Baltimore, died at her residence at the Imperial apartments Friday, at the age of eighty years. Funeral services were held this afternoon at her late residence, Rev. Andrew R. Bird of teh second Presbyterian Church, officiating. Interment was private.
Mrs. Bullock was born in Stafford county, Virginia. She married Fleming K. Lavender of Baltimore, who died during the civil war. In 1870 she married Dr. Bullock. She was at one time active in D. A. R. circles, being on the national board of management for four years, two as vice president general and two as chaplain general.
She was the first president of Stonewall Jackson Chapter of the Daughters of the Confederacy. She was one of the founders of the Second Presbyterian Church of this city. Two sons, Fleming J. Lavender and T. Wingfield Bullock; one grandson, Lownes [sic] Lavender; a sister, Mrs. Virginia P. Welrick, wife of Dr. Samuel P. Welrick, U. S. A., and one brother, John Odell of Maryland, survive her.

Rev Dr. Joseph James Bullock published in the Necrological Reports and Annual Proceedings of the Alumni Association of Princeton Theological Seminary Volume 2. Where it states "He was twice married : (1) Oct. 31, 1832, to Miss Caroline Frances Breckinridge, who died Nov. 4, 1867 ; (2) Feb. 23, 1869, to Mrs. Elizabeth Towson (Odell) Lavender, who survives him with two sons and one daughter by his first wife and two daughters by his second wife."
