Funeral services for 81-year-old Maude Beatrice Hines, of Sac City are being held this morning(Wednesday)at 10 a.m. at the Farber and Otteman funeral Home with Rev. R. D. Butler officiating.

Odetta mason will provide solo music, accompanied by Mrs. Frank Pontious. Floral tributes will be cared for by Mrs. Nellie Friesner and Mrs. Ray McDonald.

Attendants are Chris Groth, Edward Groth, Marvin Schossow, Verlyn Cressler, Dean Paeper and William Anderson. Burial will be in the Newell Cemetery.

Imogene Rebekah Lodge 259 of Sac City held services Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Maude Beatrice Hunter Hines, eldest daughter of Wm. H. and Flora Ellis Hunter, was born in Sac County on July 26, 1889. She attended school at the Hunter School in Douglas Township Sac County. As a girl she attended and became a member of the Galbraith Methodist Church and after moving to Sac City became a member of the First Christian Church.

Maude, or Ma Hines, as she was affectionally known by her many friends, lived all but three years of her life in Sac County. These three years were spent near White Lake, S. D., with her parents on a farm.

On March 28, 1906, she was married to Homer S. Hines at Sac City, Iowa. After her marriage Maude and her husband spent the early years on farms in the Newell, Nemaha, and Sac Communities. In 1934 they moved to Sac City where they were privileged to observe their 50th wedding anniversary in March of 1956.

They were the parents of nine children: Edna (Mrs Fred Denney) of Lake View; Glen of Lake City; Leona Klindt of Lake View; Vira (Mrs. Iver Grotland) of Sac City; Edith (Mrs. Lester Blair) of Dryden, Mich.; Aves (Mrs. Donald Petersen) of Audubon, Iowa; and is preceded in death by Melvin James; Velma Ann Jensen; and Dale Homer. She is also preceded in death by her parents and husband, Homer; two grandchildren, Dean Hines and Gerald Hines; four sisters and one brother.She is survived by her six children; 18 grandchildren; many nephews, neices and friends.

She was a member of the First Christian Church, Rebekah Lodge, VFW Aux., and Woman's Relief Corps. Also many neighborly clubs. She passed away at Park View Manor on April 11, 1971.
