Debbie Gilbert, age 63, of Shelbina, MO, passed away Tuesday, November 17, 2015, at her home in Shelbina.
She was born March 22, 1952, in Iowa, the daughter of Laurence and Bernice Stover Christoffer. On November 12, 1971, she was united in marriage to Bill Gilbert. He preceded her in death on March 2, 2009. Debbie is survived by two children, William Daniel Gilbert and wife Shannan and Misty Dawn Rainey, both of Shelbina, MO; seven grandchildren, Liliana and Ashton Eads, Arionna Gilbert, Gage and Chance Rainey and Kolton and Janson Carothers; three sisters, Sue Cone and husband Tom, Louise Durbin and Patty Barnes and husband Joe; two brothers, Larry Christoffer and wife Sarah and Rick Christoffer and wife Cheryl and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband and one brother-in-law, Michael Ray Durbin.
Debbie was a 1970 graduate of North Shelby High School and Burlington, Iowa Costmetology School. She was a Lutheran by faith. She enjoyed antiquing, collecting things, arranging flowers and decorating for wedding and parties. She was the owner of Biladeb’s in Shelbina, MO for nine years. Traveling and spending time with her family was her greatest joy and she was especially proud of her grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 10:30 am on Saturday, November 21, 2015, at the Greening-Eagan-Hayes Funeral Home in Shelbina, MO, with burial to follow at Shelbina Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, November 20, 2015, at the Funeral Home in Shelbina. Memorials may be made to Neighbors Helping Neighbors or Helping Hand of Clarence.
