Mr. Wells was born June 14, 1932, in St. Louis County, to the late Goldie and Leah Wells.
Mr. Wells was of the Baptist faith. He was an installer for Southwestern Bell Telephone and AT&T, for 31 years. He was active in forming the Telephone Pioneers Museum and then did volunteer work there; he enjoyed time spent with his family and piddlin.
May 18, 1958 he married Marie Bechel, in Miner, MO and she survives. Also surviving are children Andy (Retta) Wells of Poplar Bluff, Martha (Steve) Pace of Campbell, MO and Tim (Amy) Wells of Lacey, WA; a sister Dorothy Bock; 3 brothers James, Charles and David Wells; 4 grandchildren Randy Felts and fiancé Keely, Jeanie (Adam) Kiefer, Kenny (Shanda) Felts and Julie (Josh) Cannaday; 9 great-grandchildren; Madison, Spencer, Alexis, Keaton, Cayden, Makena, Parker, Owen and Beckett. A special brother-in-law Jr McConnell and a special sister-in-law Betty McConnell.
Mr. Wells was preceded in death by his parents and a brother Donald Wells.
Visitation will begin at 11 a. m. Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Fowler-Sullivan Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 12 p.m. in the chapel, with Rev. John Crowley officiating. Burial will follow in City Cemetery
