Diane Whiting Gardner passed away peacefully in her sleep Nov. 11, 2015, after her third battle with cancer. She was born April 5, 1951, in Provo, Utah, to Beverly Fae Hancock and John "Jack" Eldon Whiting. She grew up in Cedar City, Utah, and Las Vegas.
Diane married Robert Michael Gardner in the St. George LDS Temple Sept. 12, 1970. To this union, they were blessed with a son and a daughter.
Diane served in the church in many callings in primary, the library, compassionate service and as Stake Relief Society Secretary.
She was a person of great generosity, compassion and service who gave words of comfort and counsel and was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother and big sister. She had a love of family, dolls, music and Disneyland. Visiting and loving Disneyland was a family tradition she shared with her grandchildren, whom she loved and enjoyed so much.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents; and an infant brother.
Diane is survived by her loving husband, of 45 years, Robert Michael Gardner; son, Robert (Amy); daughter, Lori, all of Las Vegas; sisters, Ellen (Lee) Peterson of Orem, Utah, and Debby Campbell of Cedar City, Utah; brother, Bruce (Rachel) Whiting of Las Vegas; grandchildren, Archer, Emma and Ridge; as well as many beloved nieces and nephews.
Services will be Nov. 16 at the Elkhorn Springs Stake Center. Burial following at Palm Memorial Park-Northwest.
