Susan Lenore Wixom Brower Pearson passed away Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, at Portneuf Medical Center in Pocatello, Idaho.

Sue was born June 2, 1937, in Wapello, Idaho, to Alvin LeRoy Wixom and Pauline Owens. She was the second of four children. Sue grew up in the Groveland area, outside of Blackfoot, Idaho. The Wixom family was a large family, and she enjoyed the association of many aunts, uncles and cousins. She graduated from Blackfoot High School in 1955.

Sue worked for the telephone company, and it was because of her job that her parents were able to get telephone service. She married Verl Charles Brower on Dec. 27, 1956. Verl was in the Navy, and they moved to Pensacola, Fla. They later moved to Rhode Island, where there first two children, Kirk and Paula, were born. They were transferred to the island of Oahu in Hawaii, where Malia was born.

In 1964 soon after leaving the Navy, Verl was killed in a helicopter accident, leaving Sue a widow with three small children, ages 5, 3 and 1. Sue lived in Blackfoot for two years and supported her family.

She met Jay Fred Pearson at a dance, and they were married Aug. 4, 1966. Jay was a rancher in the Lost River area near Moore, Idaho. To this union was born Jaylin and Fred. Sue lived the rest of her life in the Lost River Valley.

Sue loved to sew, garden, cook and go for walks with her friends. She helped on the ranch and enjoyed Butte County and the Eastern Idaho State Fairs every year.

The gospel of Jesus Christ was a central part of her life. As an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she diligently took her children to church and served in numerous callings over the years. She enjoyed studying the gospel and teaching its doctrine.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Verl; and brother, Ted.

She is survived by her husband, Jay Pearson, and children, Kirk (Lynette) Brower of Idaho Falls; Paula (John) Worsley of Mesa, Ariz.; Malia (Jerry) Pruitt of Lansing, Mich.; Jaylin (Kody) Schmidt of Hailey, Idaho; and Fred (Deesa) Pearson of Moore. She is also survived by her sister, Louise (Bill) Roskelley, and Jerry Wixom. She currently had 22 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

There will be a viewing from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, and the funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday with a viewing from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. prior. Both the viewing and the funeral will be at Moore LDS Stake Center, 3092 N. 3350 W. Interment will be in Lost River Cemetery, 2900 North in Butte County, Idaho, under the direction of the Anderson Family Funeral Home of Arco.
