Doris Conaway, 81, of Wilmington, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015 at New Hanover Regional Medical Center with her family by her side. Born April 27, 1934 in Elizabethtown, NC, she was the daughter of the late George Pierce Clark and Johnnie Belle Priest Clark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by eight siblings. Doris was an instrumentally active member of Cape Fear Presbyterian Church. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Donald P. Conaway; two daughters, Donna C. White (Joel) and Dawn M. Conaway; five grandchildren, Brittani Metts (Eric), Robert White (Angela), Brianna Wheeler (Brandon), Savannah Smith and Teighlor Smith; a brother, Eugene Clark (Peggy); and numerous nieces and nephews, including an especially close niece, Linda McCall (Dennis). A Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Thursday, November 19, 2015 at Cape Fear Presbyterian Church, 2606 Newkirk Ave, Wilmington, NC 28412. Visitation will be 1 hour prior to the service at the church. Interment will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park.
