Mine Official Dies, South Fork

SOUTH FORK--Sylvester Johncour, 56, night foreman for the Adams Fuel Corporation, died unexpectedly of a heart attack at noon yesterday at his home, 666 D Street. He had worked as usual Sunday night but complained of feeling ill when he arose yesterday morning.
Mr. Johncour was born in Hastings, a son of the late Peter and Mary (LaBelle) Johncour. He worked for many years for the Pennsylvania Coal & Coke Company at Ehrenfeld before accepting his position with Adams Fuel three years ago.
Surviving are his widow; Mrs. Amanda (High) Johncour, and these four children: Master Sgt. Harold C., with the Army in Italy; Cpl Donald E., at an embarkation port; Mrs. Mary Catherine Bracken, Daisytown, and Miss Betty Mae, at home. The deceased was a brother of Peter Johncour, Johnstown; Mrs. L. R. Barraclough, and Mrs. George R. Brown, Barnesboro, and Mrs. R. W. Gunsallus, Johnstown. Two grandchildren also survive.
Mr. Johncour was a member of the South Fork Evangelical Church, the Conemaugh Lodge and New Castle Consistory of the Masons.
Friends may pay their respects at the George Funeral Home, where services will be conducted at 2;30 o'clock Wednesday afternoon by Rev. G. K. Hetrick. Interment will be in Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
