Christina Marie Watson was born March 27, 1935, to Pete and Ester (Baber) Magnino in Shawnee. She passed from this life into life eternal on Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, at the age of 80.

She attended and graduated from the Earlsboro School System. After graduation she went to Neff Business School.

Christina met and eventually married Johnny Watson on April 14, 1956. They were married for 59 years. Two children were born…a daughter Linda and a son, Mark.

Christina worked at Cooks Department Store for five years then went to work at South Rock Creek School as the secretary. She retired after 25 year on that job.

Her faith was deeply important to her and it showed through her membership in two United Methodist Churches: Draper Street and Wesley. Christina was involved in every aspect of church life at both churches. At Draper Street she taught Sunday School, led Vacation Bible School and volunteered wherever she was needed. When Draper Street merged with Wesley she continued her involvement and served on numerous committees, was involved with the UMW and its annual bazaar, the Harvester’s Sunday School Class and gave of her time and energy in other areas around the church.

In 2003, Christina contracted cancer but fought hard and won the battle. She was a 12-year survivor.

Second to her faith, Christina loved her family and insisted on hosting wonderful family events where she always spread a feast.

She is survived by her husband, Johnny Watson of the home; her daughter Linda and her husband Larry of Oklahoma City; her son Mark and his wife Lisa of Pauls Valley; three grandchildren: Jennifer Morgan and her husband Chris, Steven Watson and Emily Watson. One great-grandson, Gavin, also survives her; two brothers and sister-in-law, Pete Magnino Jr. and wife Donna of Concorde, Ohio, and A.J. Magnino of Shawnee; two sisters and brother-in-law, Katherine Childers of Seminole and Lue Bryant and husband Jerry of Shawnee. A host of other family members and friends remember Christina with fondness.

Her parents precede her in death. She is also preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Lola Magnino and a brotherin- law, Dub Childers.

A service celebrating her life will be held 10 a.m., Nov. 19, at Wesley United Methodist Church in Shawnee with Reverend Mark Watson, United Methodist Church in Pauls Valley officiating. Burial will follow at Tecumseh Cemetery.
