Carl M. Fowler, 83, of Indianapolis, passed away Sunday, November 15, 2015. He was born on June 7, 1932 in Spurgeon, Indiana to the late Carl and Ruth (Brown) Fowler. Carl was married on March 24, 1962, to Linda (Kirkham) Fowler in Muncie. Carl was a graduate of Oakland City College and received a Masters of Education from the University of Utah. He was employed at Southport High School, where he taught mathematics for 31 years, retiring in 1990. Carl was also a golf coach and was inducted into the IHSGA Coaches Hall of Fame. He was also a member of University Heights United Methodist Church and served in the Army.

Carl is survived by his wife Linda K. Fowler; sons Scott A. (Caroline) and Eric D. Fowler; brother Jim (Glenda) Fowler; sister Jane (Cliff) Miller; and grandchildren Matthew, Rachel and Michael Fowler. He was preceded in passing by his parents and a brother Larry G. Fowler.

Services for Carl will be Friday, November 20, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., at University Heights United Methodist Church. Visitation will be Thursday, November 19, from 4:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the Singleton Community Mortuary and Memorial Center and Friday from 9:30 a.m. until the hour of service at church. Memorial gifts have been suggested to the Southport High School Golf Scholarship Fund, C/O Jay Danner or the American Cancer Society.
