Marilyn L. McAlpin, 85, of Waterloo, died at Rosewood Estate of Friendship Village, on Saturday, November 14, 2015 of natural causes.

Marilyn was born on March 22, 1930 in Lohrville, IA, the daughter of Floyd and Edna Hardy Pittman.

She graduated from Lohrville High School in 1948.

Marilyn married Dale C. McAlpin on February 12, 1950 at the First United Methodist Church in Lohrville. He died June 2, 2013.

She worked as a homemaker and was also a bus driver for Don Bosco and Waterloo schools.

Marilyn was member of South Waterloo Church of the Brethren, Eastern Star, was a 4-H Leader, and an Orange correspondent to the Hudson Herald.

Preceded in death by: parents and a sister, Laurene Gemberling.

Services: Memorial services at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 19, 2015 at South Waterloo Church of the Brethren
Private family inurnment in the Villisca Cemetery at a later date

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the South Waterloo Church of the Brethren or to the Orange Elementary School Library.
