John H. “Jack” Schaub
November 28, 1927 – November 14, 2015
John Herman “Jack” Schaub, 87, of Monroe, passed away at 11:20 a.m. Saturday in his home.
Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Rupp Funeral Home, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday. Rev.Louis Lapeyre, associate pastor of St. Mary Church, will officiate. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Monroe, with military honors by VFW Post 1138.
Jack was born November 28, 1927 in Monroe. He was the son of Herman Paul and Cora Irene (Mull) Schaub. He married Marjorie Lou Green, she precedes him in death. He them married Ann Lou Mason.
He served in the U.S. Army from February 26, 1946 to August 14, 1947.
Jack had worked for Joe Lake Tire and Monroe Scrap.
Jack was a graduate of Monroe High School and a member of the American Legion.
He is survived by his wife Ann Schaub of Monroe; a daughter, Sharon (Bill) Schlarb of South Bend, Indiana; three grandchildren, Scott (Sandra) Schaub, Jennifer Lijewski and Debbie (Wayne) Broich; seven great grandchildren, Emily Schaub, Allison Schaub, Megan Lijewski, David Lijewski, Tara Lijewski and Kelsi Broich and two great-great grandchildren, Parker and Haven.
The family would like to say a special thank you to Rose, Mary and Carol. Their kindness and the care they provided to Jack meant so much to the family during this difficult time.
In addition to his first wife, he is preceded in death by a son, Larry John Schaub.
