Summary
George Marquart, 74, died Monday, 24 May, at his home in Napoleon. Services will be Friday from St. Philip Neri Catholic Church, burial in St. Philip Cemetery, Napoleon. Pallbearers will be James Hilzendeger, Robert Sperle, Richard Sperle, Gary Mock, Richard Graham Jr, Wayne Becker.
Born 29 Sep 1890 at Zeeland and early in the 1900's he came to Logan Co. with his parents (Joseph J and Barbara Hulm Marquart) to farm 3 miles N of Napoleon.
On 14 Jul 1913, he married Elizabeth Kuhn at Napoleon. In 1915 they built a farm 2.5 miles N of Napoleon, living there until 1938 when they moved into Napoleon.
Survivors include his wife; 5 daughters, Mrs. Andrew (Magdalene) Sperle of Napoleon, Mrs. Frank (Carolyn) Mock of Braddock, Mrs. Richard (Dena) Graham of Belvedere, IL, Mrs. Pete (Helen) Becker of Napoleon, Mrs. Janice Spotts of Portland, OR; 20 grandchildren; 2 sisters, Mrs. Barbara Schumacher and Mrs. Mary Schumacher of Napoleon; 1 brother, Brother Antonine Marquart of Westmont, IL.
