PELION - Services for Glenda Faye Lucas Craft, 54, will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, April 22, 1999 at King Grove Baptist Church with burial in Oaklawn Cemetery, Pelion. Officiating will be the Rev. Cook Addy and the Rev. Randy Taylor. The family will receive friends from 7-9 tonight at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to either of the following: King Grove Baptist Church Youth Program, Pelion Methodist Church Children's Sunday School Program or Earline Rikard Sunday School Class at Harmony Baptist Church.
Mrs. Craft died Tuesday, April 20, 1999 at her residence after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Born in Lexington County, she was a daughter of Lurlene Jeffcoat Lucas and the late Odell Lucas. Glenda graduated from Pelion High School and was employed at Pelion Elementary School for twenty-eight years in the kindergarten program, special education and most recently, in the Computer Lab. She was a member of New Hope Baptist Church. Glenda enjoyed cooking, sewing, crafts and spending time with her grandchildren. She spent many happy hours camping at Santee State Park with her husband, little dog, Cookie and her many dear friends.
Surviving are her mother of Swansea; husband of thirty-seven years, Charles S. (Sandy) Craft of Pelion; mother-in-law, Era F. Craft of West Columbia; sons and daughters-in-law, Chuck and Debra Senn Craft, Mike and Dondra Sharpe Craft, all of Pelion; daughter, Chanin Craft of Pelion; grandchildren, Chante, Amber and Catlin Craft all of Pelion; brother, Malcolm Lucas of Pelion; sisters, Donna Thomas of Pelion and Diane Sharpe of Salley; nieces and nephews.
