He earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Connecticut in 1991, and he completed his master's degree in economics at the University of Connecticut in 1993. Over the past twenty years he served as a property manager and leasing agent for various apartment complexes in Connecticut and Texas. Jay attended Ellington Congregational Church and Trinity Covenant Church. He was very passionate about creating his own music and wrote many songs about his life and faith. He was very adept at using his computers and the internet to research all kinds of interesting ideas about the world around him. He was a kind, generous and compassionate person who cared deeply about others and he will be greatly missed."
