Brenton D. Berry, 79, Elizabethton, passed away Saturday October 31, 2015 at his residence after a brief illness. A native of Carter County, he was a son of the late Hugh & Amanda Richardson Berry. He served in the United States Army. He worked as a Carpenter and retired as a Lt. with the Carter County Sheriff Department after 18 years of service. He was of the Free Will Baptist Faith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Margaret Wynegar Berry, May 2014. He loved and cherished his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He is survived by his sons: Tony Berry and wife Cindy, Johnson City and Troy Berry of the home. His Grandsons: Todd Berry and wife Candi, Elizabethton, Travis Berry and wife Brittany, Elizabethton. His Granddaughter; Michelle Primeau and husband David of Limestone. His Great Grandsons: Brandon, Tyler, Peyton, and Nicolas. His Great Granddaughter: Azlyn. His Sisters: Novella Stines, Carmie Lowe and a brother, James Berry, Elizabethton.
Funeral Services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Wednesday, November 4, 2015 in Memorial Funeral Chapel with Mr. Richard Cain officiating. Interment will follow in the Wilson Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be selected from family members. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Danny Henegar, Bob Winters, Steve Evans, Mike Lowe and Johnny Stines. The family will receive friends from 2 to 3 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Military Honors will be provided by the Carter County Honor Guard.
