Wefer Services

Funeral services for Mrs. Lydia Wefer, who died on Wednesday morning at her residence in Bebe, were held today, Thursday, October 13 at 2 p.m. at Seydler-Hill Chapel. J. H. Ranft officiated, with interment in the Monthalia Lutheran cemetery.
She was born on August 9, 1894 in Shiner.
Her parents were Adolph and Friedreche Best Hempel. In 1916 she married Henry Dick Wefer, and he preceded her in death on September 9, 1962. She was a member of the Seguin congregation of Jehovah's Witness.
Mrs. Wefer is survived by three daughters, Henrirtta Baumann, Mrs. Wallace (Clara) Kneese, both of San Antonio, and Mrs. Alfred (Rosalee) Wortham of Baytown; one son, Ben Wefer of Bebe; a brother, Paul Hempel of Hallettsville; one sister, Emma Noach of San Antonio; six grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers were Alfred Wortham Sr., Alfred Wortham Jr., Wallace Kneese, Eugene Flores, Jim Blassingame, and Harry Baumann Jr.
