Georgia Lou Boyd Akers, age 80, of Dana, KY, wife of Ray Akers, passed away Saturday, November 14, 2015 at Signature Healthcare, Pikeville, KY. She was born October 4, 1935 at Dana, KY a daughter of the late Estill and Rosa Jarrell Boyd.
In addition to her husband, Georgia is survived by three daughters: Roma (Tim) Newsome, Harold, KY, Jeannie (Dean) Nelson, Banner, KY and Janet (Virgil) Slone, Dana, KY; six grandchildren: Heather Nelson, Wesley Nelson, Chris Newsome, Nick Newsome, Kelly Short and Justin Slone; four great-grandchildren: Tia, Madison, Alison and Lynlee.
She was preceded in death by one brother: Graham "Bud" Boyd.
Funeral service will be conducted Monday, November 16, 2015 at 1:00 p.m. in the Hall Funeral Home Chapel, Martin, KY with Sonny Boyd and Barry Clark officiating. Burial will follow in the Akers Family Cemetery, Dana, KY and visitation will be from 3:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday at Hall Funeral Home.
