She died at 4 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2001, at Vanderbilt University Hospital, Nashville, Tenn., following a long illness.
A native of Dickson, Tenn., she was born Nov. 8, 1924, the daughter of the late Thomas G. and Ellie Lee. She was co-owner of Clayton's Jewelry Store, was a member of the Casky Homemakers Club and the First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Henry C. Clayton; two sons, Mike Clayton, Houston, Texas, Terry Clayton, Huntsville, Ala.; a daughter, Patti Clayton Mahoney, Hopkinsville; a sister, Arlie Pearl Graham, Fayetteville, Ga.; four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
