Christine Fern (Head) Walker, 88, of Sweetwater passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at Hendrick Hospice Care in Abilene.
Funeral services will be at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 11, 2022 at McCoy Chapel of Memories with Rev. Daniel Norton officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery with McCoy Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. A family and friend's visitation will be Thursday from 5-7 pm at the funeral home.
Christine was born April 20, 1933 at Roby, Texas to Ninnie B. and Carrie E. (Jones) Head. She married Archie A. "Buddy" Walker on March 4, 1950 at Roby.
Christine lived in Sweetwater most of her life and was a homemaker and a member of Lamar Street Baptist Church. She had worked for Bahlman Cleaners and Buchanan Flower Shop. She had a very special love for her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Christine is survived by her daughter, Tammy Conder and husband Kelly of Tuscola; son, David Walker and wife Kathy of Sweetwater; grandchildren, Brad Walker and wife Brooke of Sweetwater, Ashley Glass and husband Logan of Sweetwater, Heather Pryor and husband T.J. of Tuscola and Abbilynn Baker of Tuscola; and her great-grandchildren, Brantley Pryor and Finley Walker. Christine is also survived by her brothers, Hollis Head of Sweetwater and Dalton Head and wife Diana of Buffalo Gap.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Buddy; sisters, Nelda Bond and Clematine Wilson; and brothers, Junior Head, Clarence Head and S.C. Head.
