Kenneth was a graduate of Brooks High School, Killen, Alabama, as well as a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Upon his honorable discharge, he began his career with the Alabama Department of Corrections as a correctional officer at Limestone Correctional facility. He remained employed there for the rest of his life, 21 years. He loved Tennessee Vols football as well as being a lifelong deer hunter.
Mrs. Janice Cossey, his mother, preceded him in death.
Survivors include his father, Kenneth Cossey Sr., of Florence, Alabama; his sister, Samantha Reynolds, of Eureka, California; two nephews, Rantz Reynolds and CJ Tussey, both of Florence; and two great-nephews, Landon and Riley Reynolds; a number of aunts and uncles, Faye and Roy King, Jackie and Talmadge Keeton and James Rikard, all of Florence, and Norman and Belinda Cossey and Michael and Gloria Cossey, all of Arkansas; cousins, Dianne, Kelli, Clay, Kevin, Troy, and Melissa; and two very special friends, Charles Brock and Terry Henry.
The family would like to thank them both for their unconditional love and support as this horrific tragedy has unfolded.
The visitation will be noon until 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, 2015, at Morrison Funeral Home, Central Heights. The funeral will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
An important cause to Kenneth's heart was the Wounded Soldiers Project. Knowing this, the family asks for no flowers but that you instead consider donating to this worthwhile cause at woundedwarriorsproject.org.
