Mrs. Carrie Lou Bullock “Mom” Carr, 96, of Bluff City, TN, went home to be with her Lord on Monday, December 17, 2012 at Sycamore Shoals Hospital, following a brief illness. She was the daughter of the late John Henry and Minnie Pearl Perry Bullock. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Everett Carr; two brothers, Jody Bullock and Oscar Bullock; one sister, Irene Bullock Carter; two half-brothers, Cecil Bullock and Boyce Bullock.

Mrs. Carr was a homemaker and was retired from Magnavox. She was the oldest member of Bunker Hill Christian Church and enjoyed quilting and gardening. She was a wonderful cook and loved flowers. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Survivors include two sons, Raymond Carr and wife Dottie of Bluff City; and Wayne Carr and wife Marlene of Elizabethton; three grandchildren, Sherry Carr Scott and husband Wendell of Kernersville, NC; John Thomas Carr, Bluff City; and Tony Wayne Carr and wife Karen, Elizabethton; four great grandchildren, Tony Wayne Carr II and fiancé Stephanie Elliott, Bluff City; Hayley Madison Scott, Kernersville, NC; John Tyler Carr, Nashville; and Ethan Gage Carr, Nashville; one half-brother, Eugene “Cotton” Bullock, Bluff City; two half-sisters, Patsy Bullock Scalf, Bluff City; and Mary Bullock Perry, Bluff City. Several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews also survive.

The funeral service for Mrs. Carr will be conducted at 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 19, 2012, in the Chapel of Peace at Tetrick Funeral Home of Elizabethton, with Mr. Ken Kehrer, Minister, officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday prior to the service or at the residence at other times. Music will be under the direction of Bobby McGee, soloist.
The graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 AM on Thursday, December 20, 2012 at the Emmert Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be John Thomas Carr, Wendell Scott, Tony Wayne Carr II, Tony Carr, Larry Gouge and Dave Scott. Honorary pallbearers will be her nephews.

Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home at 9:30 AM on Thursday to go in procession to the cemetery.
